I met salon owner, Renee, at a charity fashion show event for a local hospital, where we both volunteered our services. Since then, Renee and I have worked together on many occasions and have become good friends. For as long as I've known her, I've wanted to give her dark, glamorous looking eyes, so I started with a rusty copper pigment on the lid and underneath the eye. Charcoal shadow was added to the outer corners of her eyes and also smudged underneath the rim. I liberally applied satin beige shadow onto the inner corners of her eyes and upward into her browbone to illuminate the eye area and to contrast the dark. A Gel liner and black kohl pencil were used on the lashline and inner rim respectively. I curled her natural lashes to open up the eye, added false lashes and multiple coats of mascara. Her lips were lined in a medium brown pencil and filled in with golden shimmer gloss. For warmth, a soft golden-apricot cream blush was added to the apples of her cheeks and also blended into the temples.

When I first met Rochelle, she had such a warm personality, so I wanted to warm up her face to match. I evened out Rochelle's skin tone by dabbing and blending cream foundation a few shades lighter than her complexion around her entire eye area, down the bridge of her nose, and on her chin. I used a silicone based foundation all over the face. Burgundy-copper toned shadow was used all over the lid and I added a dark brown shadow above her crease blending up and out. Next, I applied a gel liner to her lashline and extended it a little further than the length of the eye. I rimmed her eye with black kohl liner, added false lashes and applied multiple coats of mascara. For her lips, I chose to line them with a dark brown pencil, which I layered with a brownish-red lipstick and finished them off by filling them in with a sparkly golden gloss.

My friend Kyra needs no introduction (LOL). She usually wears tinted moisturizer, with a mineral shadow and looks great! But, I wanted to use her face to do my own version of a natural sun-kissed look. I used a golden brown cream foundation, mixed with moisturizer all over her face, and added a soft brown powder to set the foundation. An apricot blush was liberally applied onto the cheeks and into the temples. Her lips were kept natural as I only used a medium brown liner initially to line the lips, then the line was smudged and softened with a lip brush and a clear gloss was added. For her eyes I used orangey-gold and brown shadows over the entire lid and underneath the bottom rim. The brows were filled in slightly and a shimmering powder was added to the cheeks, chin, and forehead.

Janet is a beautiful girl of Black and Samoan descent. I wanted to play up her beautiful almond shaped eyes and it would be a sin not to accent her bone structure. I brushed underneath the eye area, the cheek bones, down the bridge of her nose and her chin, with highlighter. I then used honey brown liquid foundation over the entire face, in circular motions, buffing the liquid into the skin. For her eyes, I started by using a copper cream shadow as a base, blending it all over the entire lid, working up and out toward the browbone and temples. A black shadow was "winged" out onto the outer corners of the eyes and across the entire crease. The lashline and lower rim was lined with a black gel liner. Her natural lashes were curled and multiple coats of mascara were applied. A coral colored creamy blush was added to finish the look.

I grew up with my friend LaToyua, and due to her excellent skin, she never wears makeup. I absolutely LOVE to do women who never wear makeup, especially women like LaToyua whose hair and clothes are usually very trendy. I wanted to give her a smoky look to accent her jet black hair. I used black eye shadow all over the lid, being careful not to blend it past the crease. I contrasted the black with a white satin shadow blended from the browbone into the crease of the eye. The same white shadow was blended into the corners of the eyes and underneath the rim. False lashes were added and multiple coats of mascara. Next I lined and completely filled in the lips with a flesh toned pencil and covered them in a golden speckled gloss. Her look was finished off with a pinky-brown blush.
